Sebastian Orellana is a California-based aspiring screenwriter/journalist and author of several Multi-cultural literature based blogs. Beginning his love for writing at an early age, through watching movies and reading books like “Harry Potter” and “Percy Jackson”, Orellana decided to pursue his passion and talent by writing for several publications, copywriting, and websites before deciding he needed a good college education. After spending time as a communications major in a community college, Orellana decided to further his career in Online college. Outside of writing, Orellana enjoys sports, movies, comic books, and generally anything fantasy or non-fiction related. His ultimate goal is to bring his creativity to life on the big screen.

In writing several blogs with a common theme of “Multi-Cultural Literature”, much of his writing as of late reflects his newfound knowledge and respect for literature from all over the world. All his blogs share a common theme of multi-cultural literature, teaching the youth about the subject and finding the common theme between authors. Multi-Cultural Literature is defined as the sociocultural experiences of underrepresented groups. This literature includes those who fall outside the “mainstream” of categories such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, language. Many authors use their culture and knowledge from their culture to write their literature and write a story that reflects their culture.

Through his blogs, he represented many authors from all over the world including Africa, China, Germany, India, and many other places worldwide. Through reading the work from all these authors he learned different things and found a brand new love for literature and respect for authors from all over the globe. In literature, where you come from often dictates your style of writing and what you consider powerful weapons when it comes to creating a compelling story. The use of metaphors, magical realism, comparison, establishing national boundaries are all great examples of tools used by authors throughout the world. In literature, that is what global refers to. In the 20th Century, much of the boundaries were broken and many authors adopted many new techniques from all over the world, read “Perforated Sheet”. Due to new expoloration, a lot of authors were born into two or more different cultures as it reflects in their writing. In today’s literature, many authors struggle with identity and really finding who they are due to being from multiple cultures. They struggle to find where they belong and it reflects on their writing, utilizing multiple tools learned from all the cultures around the world. All of Orellana's blogs reflect these themes and more, so get into the mind of the 23-year-old and jump into his blogs.
