For as long as I could remember, love has always been love/hate for me. To feel the warmth and euphoria of being in love, looking into your partner’s eyes and feeling like you could take on the world, like nothing can stop you.

But when you’ve felt love’s sting as much as I have, you know there’s a darker side to it, one that turns you into a different person, one that makes you hesitant before you jump in head first.

It’s made me picky, made me a bit cynical, and it has inspired hundreds of stories, poems, scenarios, and…

It’s not politics anymore, it’s a matter of human rights. “Black Lives Matter” is not a statement singling out a certain group but its a cry for help from our brothers and sisters who have never felt free in this country.

A world where you are designed to fail just because of the color of your skin would infuriate anyone so why not show your frustration and call for anyone to listen?

A Hard Time For Everyone

Kobe! Since I can remember shooting your crumbled up trash in the trashcan and yelling “Kobe” was the norm that we all did. Being from SoCal, Kobe Bryant was the first basketball player I really knew since I grew up a football and baseball guy.

That’s who Kobe was, he was an omnipresent figure that was part of my life without me even really knowing it. …

In mid-April, we were blessed with J Cole’s 5th album KOD. The album was a different sound than we were used to hearing from the 33 year old North Carolina native, containing several mixes with his alter ego kiLL Edward and several topics including infidelity, drug abuse, and rap today. Not a month later, rapper/actor Childish Gambino, dropped a music video that had the world talking. The music video “This Is America” also talked about controversial topics in our society today. The two rappers had a common theme in their respective songs and it seems to have a target audience, the youth.

Death looked at the man he admired, he saw bravery, selflessness, and his will to lead his people. These were all qualities Death admired and he knew that Andrew was a big reason the living still stood a chance, the reason Death stood a chance.

“I live because they live, it is unfair that death depends on life” , Death proclaims. Just as he finishes, Andrew turns around, as if he heard Death in his frustration. Andrew then walks over towards Death and for the first time, the two are looking at each other, face to face. Andrew could see…

In a post apocalyptic world, Death looks unto the scattered survivors, the few who have managed to survive this catastrophe. “The men that once feared me now welcome my presence, they wish to enjoy the kiss that takes them out of this world”, Death sighs. He walks to the camp, he looks around and sees the remains of what was once a civilization. The rubble, the fallen roofs, the grass growing through the cracks of the pavement, the world was no more.

January 21st, 2016, the first day I smoked weed. I was 20 at the time and after always being curious about smoking (I mean I live in California), I decided that this was the perfect day to enter the world of the Devil’s Lettuce. From this day forward, I haven’t looked back. From starting with a little pipe, to perfecting my blunt rolling, I became something of an expert in a span of two years. I was smoking just about every day, anything from flower to dabs, it seems I knew it all.

In my journey, I was very fortunate…

2017 was definitely a crazy year from me. I had a lot of ups and a lot of downs and overall the year has really opened my eyes and made me realize things about myself. For those of you who know me you know I always “Trust The Process” and this year my faith in “the process” was put through the test in so many ways. I learned new things and I learned i truly don’t understand what the process really is and what i need to do to really find my process. But that’s okay and that’s just the…
